Sustainability
Solucell isn’t just any material – it’s a game-changer in the textile world, answering the growing call for greener, more innovative products. Sustainability is at the heart of Solucell’s story. It was born out of a need to ditch harmful materials like PVA and replace them with something eco-friendly and easy to dissolve, all while boosting performance. But Solucell isn’t stopping there. It’s evolving into a force for sustainable innovation, teaming up with cotton and embracing green production methods to create natural products with a smaller environmental footprint.
In creating Solucell, we’ve taken a unique approach to its dissolving process – it’s more like a degrading process, breaking down the polymer into its primary molecular components. This means that the waste generated is easily collectible and fully recyclable. As a responsible company, we’re committed to promoting the idea of complete recycling for Solucell waste, closing the loop on our production cycle. We aim for minimal COD values at discharge and strive to collect, purify, and reintroduce all wastes back into the market for new productions, including the creation of new Solucell. We provide comprehensive support for setting up and managing the recycling process, ensuring sustainability every step of the way. Additional information on the recycling process is available, and we’re here to assist with any questions or concerns.
Solucell holds an Oeko-Tex certification, ensuring its safety for use in all kinds of productions without any harmful effects. Additionally, the dissolving process of Solucell doesn’t produce any dangerous or prohibited by-products, like formaldehydes commonly found in PVA-based products. Instead, it undergoes a straightforward degradation process, ensuring that textile producers can create fully safe home and apparel products. This means that products made with Solucell can be 100% cotton without any risk of chemical contamination.
